Meet Robert Bryan Roach, Jr., D.D.S.
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Bryan Roach was born and raised in Freeport, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree in Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1984 from the University of University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following that, Dr. Roach joined the United States Army Dental Corps and completed a one-year hospital-based general practice residency graduating in 1985. His first assignment in the U.S. Army was overseas in Germany. Dr. Roach completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, graduating in 1998. Dr Roach’s training provided extensive experience in orthognathic and reconstructive surgery, implants and facial cosmetics.
Dr. Roach is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Roach’s military assignments have included: Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Carson, Colorado and Fort Lewis, Washington, where he was the assistant program director for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency. During the first Gulf War, Dr. Roach was deployed to Kuwait. His last assignment in the Army was at Brooke Army Medical Center where he served as chief and program director for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency. Dr. Roach obtained his board certification status from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2000. In 2006 Dr. Roach retired from the military after serving twenty-two years and co-founded Sonterra Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center with Dr. David Malave.
Dr. Roach is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Roach is a member of the following organizations: American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and the San Antonio District Dental Society. Dr. Roach has multiple publications of his work in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Association Journal.
While assigned in Germany. Dr. Roach and Linda, a U.S. helicopter pilot, met and married. In his spare time, Dr. Roach enjoys golf, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, motorcycle riding, watching sports and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
